Alcohol free wine is an option for many people who
can't consume alcohol for many reasons
Alcohol free wine can be a pleasant alternative to regular wine.
Non-drinkers, dieters, pregnant women, recovering alcoholics, diabetics,
religious abstainers, designated drivers, and even children can partake of
alcohol free wine. There’s a misconception that alcohol free red wine does not
have the same health benefits as red wine with alcohol. Yet it has been proven
that taking the alcohol out of red wine does not destroy the health benefits.
Alcohol may even get in the way of the benefits. Catechins in the blood plasma
are cancer and heart disease fighters, and alcohol wine drinkers and non alcohol
wine drinkers had little difference in their catechin levels. Alcohol may even
make the catechins drop.
Alcohol free wine is healthier than its counterpart in that it has two thirds
fewer calories--thirty as opposed to a hundred. The nonalcoholic wine can be
made by a method that keeps the taste and elements of regular wine but
eliminates the alcohol. This method is called vacuum distillation. There’s also
a wide variety of nonalcoholic wines. One winery ships seven kinds of wine in
three different sizes to over two dozen countries. This winery makes private
label light wine. Another misconception is that nonalcoholic wines taste like
fruit juices, and that is untrue.
Another winery offers alcohol free wine with less than .5 percent alcohol. This
wine still retains the aroma and flavor of regular wine. Their wine is made in
the same way as regular wine and then the alcohol is taken out. Their wines have
won awards.
They offer the same kinds of wine normally seen. Alcohol free Merlot still has
the fruity and smooth taste that belongs to Merlot. Being a red wine, it would
offer the health benefits. Alcohol free wines still go with meals such as beef,
chicken, and lamb. Overall non-alcoholic wine drinkers can still have as good a
wine experience as regular wine drinkers.
